ABOUT IGGPRA AND PASO ROBLES WINE GRAPES
Wine Grapes from the American Viticultural Area of Paso Robles
Founded in August 2002, the Independent Grape Growers of the Paso Robles Area (IGGPRA) is an association of viticulture industry members dedicated to the advancement of superior wine grapes in the award-winning Paso Robles American Viticulture Area (AVA). A designated appellation consisting of 24 square miles of distinctly varied vineyard soils, topographies, and micro-climates, the Paso Robles AVA is located approximately halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles on the Central Coast of California and is ideal for raising a variety of highly sought-after world-class Paso Robles wine grapes.
Now the fastest growing AVA in California, the Paso Robles AVA, is made up of vineyards and wineries in San Miguel, Paso Robles, Atascadero, Templeton, Cholame, Shandon, Creston, Santa Margarita, Lockwood, Jolon, and other Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo County, CA and southern Monterey County wine grape growing towns (see AVA Maps).
IGGPRA's niche networking association recognizes and strengthens the bonds of this elite Central Coast viticultural community. Joining all levels of professional and amateur wine grape growers, winemakers and viticulture industry persons, IGGPRA's objective is to facilitate the collaboration of resources and information for the continued advancement and success of the entire appellation. In the face of growing demand, IGGPRA also serves to provide clear, convenient, and cohesive representation of available Paso Robles wine grapes to the national and international market of buyers and suppliers.
By Paso Robles Wine Grape Growers, For Paso Robles Wine Grape Growers
The founding goal of IGGPRA is "growers helping growers." While each member has his or her individual philosophies and methods for wine grape growing, all benefit from the open exchange of ideas and industry information which affects every Paso Robles wine grape grower, such as state and federal government issues, vineyard technology improvements, techniques for planting, growing and harvesting, labor issues and industry trends.
Information is provided for members each month through social events, seminars, workshops and newsletters. The IGGPRA website serves as a repository for this timely and significant information.
Please contact any one of our board members if you have something you would like to share with our members, or if you would like to become a member.
